Buenos Hermanos, an album by famed Cuban singer Ibrahim Ferrer originally released in 2003, is now available in a Special Edition. This is not just a remastered release. The changes are considerable. Producer and musician Ry Cooder re-mixed and remastered the album, requesenced the tracks and added four new, previously unreleased songs.

This reformatted album is an essential set of timeless songs by one of the finest Cuban singers of his generation. Ibrahim Ferrer’s career was reignited after he had retired from the music business. He became part of the highly effective and superb ensemble called Buena Vista social Club. As part of Buena Vista Social Club, Ferrer recorded and toured with one of the most successful Cuban acts in recent Cuban history that appealed to world music and many other multi-generational audiences.

This Buenos Hermanos, Special Edition delivers Cuban at its best, combining irresistible son cubano, seductive boleros and other Cuban musical forms, featuring unforgettable, passionate performances by Ibrahim Ferrer joined by the Cooder family and some of the finest Cuban musicians, many of whom have become famed soloists.

There are other changes in Buenos Hermanos (Special Edition) as well. The album has a new cover and appears in various formats. The CD version is enclosed in a beautifully hard cover book format with original lyrics in Spanish and English translations, photos and credits. The album is also available on vinyl enclosed in an elegant gatefold sleeve.
