KCRW 89.9 FM & Afro Funke’ to Present “Africa Rising” in Los Angeles

Radio station KCRW 89.9 FM and Afro Funke’ will present the African world music showcase “Africa Rising” Saturday, October 15, 2016 at The Ford Theatres in Los Angeles.

Ghanaian-born Rocky Dawuni will present his Afro Roots combination of reggae, Afrobeat, highlife and soul, along with special guests. Dawuni’s most recent album is “Branches of the Same Tree.”

WONDEM, an Ethiopian influenced music ensemble led by Los Angeles native Dexter Story will be joined by Congolese-Belgian vocalist Marie Daulne of Afropop group Zap Mama.
