Mighty Mystic’s crossover style brings together roots reggae with rock and music. It’s representative of American reggae bands that mix reggae with pop, rock, hip hop and other forms with advocacy for marijuana, seeking new audiences.
Mighty Mystic became a familiar name in the reggae scene in 2006 after achieving his first international hit with the song “Riding on the Clouds.” The album “Wake up the World” (2010) featured guests such as reggae star Shaggy and roots rocker Lutan Fyah.
Mighty Mystic was born Kevin Mark Holness in the rural community of Goshen, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. As a child, Kevin showed early interest in reggae music. In 1989, Mighty Mystic’s family moved to Boston, Massachusetts in the United States.
