Concilio Mixes Early Music and World Music in Fire Dance Video

Concilio – Músicas del Mundo, a band from La Ceja del Tambo, Department of Antioquia in Colombia has launched a new video titled Danza del fuego (Fire Dance). The music video was made in Mendoza (Argentina) during a tour that Concilio made in September 2014.

Concilio compiles and performs various early music and world music genres, using instruments from different time periods, from different corners of the globe. The group was formerly called Concilio de Trento.

Band members include Cristina Vasquez on soprano vocals; Alejandro Martínez on percussion (in the video he plays darbuka); Amalia Cardona on wind instruments (in the video she uses a recorder called “sopranino”); Anselmo Ríos on wind instruments (in the video he performs with the hulusi, a Chinese flute), and Diego López on string instruments (in the video he plays the Spanish guitar).
