World Music Expo WOMEX announced today the names of the seven members of the international music community who will form the Jury for WOMEX 2014 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain from Wednesday, October 22 – Sunday, October 26, 2014.
Every year, the Showcase and Conference selection is made by a new group of seven jury members, also known as the seven Samurai, drawn especially from within the global WOMEX network. Five members are responsible for selecting the Showcase Festival line-up, and two Samurai are in charge of Conference programming.
The five Showcase judges for WOMEX 2014 are:
Brahim El Mazned (Morocco)
Antonio Martinez (Germany)
Guy Morley (UK)
Natasha Padabed (Belarus/The Netherlands)
Isabel Soffer (USA)
The two Conference Samurai are:
Birgit Ellinghaus (Germany)
Balazs Weyer (Hungary)
