Quebecer Band Le Vent Du Nord Announces UK Tour

Le Vent Du Nord, one of the leading bands in the Quebec folk music scene, will be touring the UK this summer, July 23rd to August 4th, 2013.

Le Vent Du Nord means Wind from the North and they perform Quebecer (known as Quebecois in Quebec) folk with strong Celtic music influences from Ireland and Brittany (France). The band uses a wide range of traditional instruments, including foot percussion.

Le Vent Du Nord will present their latest album titled ‘Tromper Le Temps‘ released in 2012. Band members include Nicolas Boulerice (vocals, hurdy gurdy, piano accordion, piano), Olivier Demers (vocals, fiddle, foot-tapping and guitar), Simon Beaudry (vocals, guitar, Irish bouzouki), and Réjean Brunet (vocals, diatonic button accordion, acoustic bass guitar, piano and jaw harp).

The band’s discography includes: Maudite Moisson! (Borealis CD BCD151, 2003), Les Amants du Saint-Laurent (Borealis CD BCD169, 2005), Dans les Airs (Borealis, 2008), Mesdames Et Messieurs! – Live ( Borealis, 2008), La Part du Feu (Borealis/Universal, 2009) and Tromper Le Temps (2012).
