Flamenco Star Diego el Cigala Begins Pan-American Tour Tomorrow

Spanish vocalist Diego el Cigala, one of the key figures in the current flamenco scene, will begin his tour across the Americas on Thursday, September 6th, 2012. Diego el Cigala will present his latest album, ‘Cigala & Tango’, throughout thirty concerts that will take place in Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica and the United States.

Last month, on August 21st, El Cigala’s latest album titled Cigala & Tango was released in the United States and Puerto Rico. In addition, the singer from Madrid is a candidate for the 2013 Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Album of the Year, Best World Music Album and Best Music Video.

Ramón Jiménez Salazar –better known as Diego el Cigala-, has sold over 250.000 copies of Cigala & Tango, an album that was conceived at the legendary Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires in 2010, in a performance that was critically acclaimed by the Argentine press.

On Cigala & Tango, El Cigala presents a mix of classic and contemporary tango songs by Gardel, Astor Piazzolla, Atahualpa Yupanqui and others, accompanied by renowned Argentine artists such as Andrés Calamaro, Néstor Marconi and Juanjo Domínguez.
