Three of Iran and Azerbaijan’s most talented musicians join for a very special album titled From Shiraz To Baku (Arc Music EUCD2388), which celebrates the union of their two cultures through music.
Hamid Motebassem (Iran) on setar, Pejman Hadadi (Iran) on tombak and percussion, and Imamyar Hasanov (Azerbaijan) on kamancha, are all skilled performers of their respective instruments. On the album From Shiraz To Baku they present exquisite compositions and improvisations demonstrating the similarities between the two traditions.
“For me this recording is divine music, suggesting the melodic and harmonic links between the dawn of new life and the graceful impressions of love and faith, with beauty as a result, “ says Imamyar Hasanov. “The listeners’ hearts will be renewed with a mystical beauty.”
