Fateh Ali and Murad Ali - Convergence
Fateh Ali and Murad Ali

Convergence (Mystica)

Convergence evokes the spirit of musical exploration while sitting beside a tranquil river. It is a soft tapestry blending the music of the twin brothers Fateh Ali on sitar and Murad Ali on sarangi, accompanied by Talvin Singh on tabla, Kanchman Babbar on flute, Aman Nath on guitar and Vasundhra on vocals. The brothers are of Ustad Ghulam Sabir Khan of the Moradabad gharana of sarangi players.

Our picks include the opening tracks Infinity and Autumn, and Saturday Night in Delhi. Blending textures of jazz and lounge, this is a fine chillout album. The track Colour of Love is a tribute to poet Hazrat Amir Khusrau, credited with the inventions of tabla and sitar.
