Greek act Arkane is fascinated by ancient mythology, temptation, mesmerism, masks and seduction. The album Enraptured Serene Mesmerism falls under the category of darkwave; an electronic subgenre of ambient music. On Enraptured Serene Mesmerism, electronics are combined with captivating female vocals, creating mysterious environments.
Arkane has never played live so this is a studio project. A new album is in the works, titled Mesmeric Masquerade Seduction, scheduled for release on the first day of 2012. The new material is a concept album. “It is a musical and aesthetic concept based on the mesmerism of masquerade seduction in 8 parts.
“All the music has a similar, almost compulsive common song structure with intense atmosphere that delivers profound sentiments of seductive mesmerizing. The intention is to drive the listener to a mesmerizing trance, and ecstatic alluring seduction.”
According to Arkane, the new album will feature the European tradition with haunting operatic female voices blended with a mix of Anatolian mysticism and mystery.
