Kate Wolf Music Festival takes place June 24-26, 2011 at beautiful Black Oak Ranch, five miles north of Laytonville, California. Just added to the lineup, Jorma Kaukonen, one of the most highly esteemed living American roots-guitarists. Kaukonen is turning 70 later this month and has a new recording coming out by Hot Tuna.
“For us, it’s exciting to start going places we haven’t been before…driving a new road in the old car so to speak,” wrote Kaukonen, on his blog. “I’m really excited about this new Tuna CD and I hope you all will be, too. In any case, as always, we try to do our best.” The recording is slated for release this spring on Red House records.
Performers currently confirmed for the 2011 Festival include: Los Lobos, Bruce Cockburn, Taj Mahal, Poor Buttered Rumskey, Mavis Staples, Jorma Kaukonen, Poor Man’s Whiskey, Ruthie Foster, Rosalie Sorrels, David Bromberg, The Wailin’ Jennys, Angel Band, Hot Buttered Rum, Jorma Kaukonen with many more to be announced in the near future.
Early-Bird pricing began January 21.
