Independent World Music Artists Networking Session at APAP 2010 on January 8th

APAP10_logoRGBWorld music musicians will be able to network and learn more about the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) at the pre-session meeting titled Independent World Music Artists Networking Session. The session will take place in the second floor conference rooms of the Hilton New York, Concourse G (53rd/6th Ave. New York City).

The description of the session is as follows: "More and more independent world music artists are emerging in North America and attending APAP. This session gives them as well as presenters and other performing arts field professionals a chance to discuss the challenges of the independent world music artist, brainstorm solutions, and share tools and strategies for carving out a career as an independent musician in the world music sphere.

While past and current sessions at APAP address the field, this creates an entry-point specifically for the artist who is managing their own career, a growing segment of the world music field."

APAP is the most important arts presenters conference and showcase in the United States of America. It is held annually in January in New York City and it is where a lot of world music booking takes place.  The conference includes plenaries, panels, workshops, and the Exhibit Hall.
