Big Blue Ball (Real World, 2008) 

For several years, starting in 1992, Peter Gabriel invited numerous world music artists to record at Real World Studios. These artists included artist signed to Real World Records as well as other world music luminaries. The initial sessions in 1992 happened during a "Recording Week." Additional sessions took place throughout three years.

Peter Gabriel is featured on several tracks, but you can also find other charismatic voices, such as the queen of world music, Natacha Atlas, Irish pop star Sinead O’Connor, African legend Papa Wemba, Iarla O Lionáird and Joseph Arthur. Instrumentalists include Neil Sparkes (Temple of Sound), Jah Wobble, Joji Hirota, Hossam Ramzy, flamenco guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares, American drummer Billy Cobham and many more.

Big Blue Ball is a portrait of some of the finest cutting edge world music acts in recent times.
