Supermoon (Heads Up, 2007)
The popular Belgian world music group Zap Mama is back with a new album titled Supermoon. Zap Mama has always attracted attention because of its excellent vocalists, who combine African music with pop and American soul.
The current incarnation of Zap Mama is basically the project of singer Marie Daulne, who sings lead and backing vocals, accompanied by dozens of musicians, including well known African performers, such as Tony Allen and Keletigui Diabate.
Supermoon aims to attract the attention of the mainstream US market with many songs in English, using beautiful vocal work combined with laid back pop, R&B, a dash of electronica and global sounds from Africa and the Caribbean.
