New York, USA – Cape Verdean Zouk songstress, Suzanna Lubrano will launch her U.S. tour on Sunday, March 11th at the legendary S.O.B.’s (Sounds of Brazil) venue in New York City. Suzanna will be performing her big hits such as "Tudo Pa Bo" and "Nha Sonho" as well as premiering an impressive range of new music from her upcoming album scheduled to be released late Spring 2007.
Performing at a historical venue such as Sounds of Brazil, where the very best in music have showcased their gifts, is both an honor and privilege for Lubrano. She promises to give a performance that will make the ancestors and pioneers who have graced the S.O.B.’s stage proud.
Backed by a full band of prominent instrumentalists whom have toured with world music greats such as Cesaria Evora and Maria DeBarros, Suzanna plans to create an intimate experience for everyone that attends this special launch show. This event is the brainchild of Pa Nos Productions whose aim is to give the diverse S.O.B.’s audience a complete experience into the Cape Verde islands through music, food and culture. Other cities in Suzanna’s U.S. tour include Boston, Providence (Rhode Island) and Houston (Texas).
After winning the title for Best African Female and Best Video at the 2003 Kora Music Awards in South Africa, Suzanna has since become one of the most demanded female singers within the Afro-Portuguese community. She has performed world wide from Cairo to Norway. Often known as the Queen of Cabo Zouk, Suzanna’s sound can best be described as a mix of Zouk and R&B. Most of her songs are in Cape Verdean Criolu which is closely related to the Portuguese language.
