Highlife Pioneer Ambrose Adekoya Campbell Dies in England

Highlife band leader and percussionist Ambrose Adekoya Campbell
passed away in his sleep in England on Thursday, June 22. Ambrose Adekoya Campbell arrived to London in the 1940s. There, he became the
leader of the West African Rhythm Brothers, associating with Caribbean
musicians, and had a great influence on London’s Highlife and Jazz community.
