Los Angeles (California), USA – The Sounds of the Sacred, Songs of the Earth Festival & Sunset Concert will be held Sunday, September 18, 2005 from Noon to 10:00 PM. The festival will take place at Topanga Community House and Sacred Chumash Grounds, located at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga (California) in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles.

The all-day festival is part of the World Festival of Sacred Music. The festival will promote peace, featuring cross-cultural experiences through participatory performances in music, dance & theatre. Among the daytime performers scheduled to appear are:Kabbalah Bach & Florence Riggs’ Tibetan Sounds of the Earth “Gaia Mama”; Llanto, The Flamenco Cry of Life Dance & Music of Jan Zeitlan & Robin Brown; Maria Bodmann’s Balinese Shadow Theatre; The So Cal Association of Tibetan Dancers’ The Sacred World Dance Journey: Jo Cobett; The Sound Journey of Marla Leigh & Richard Grossman; Cosmic Dream Tribe & The Sound Healing of Dijeridoo Experience: Evan Perman & Anjelica Ma; The Kirtan Experience: Michele Krolik & Andrew Behla; The Dance of the Whirling Dervish: Aziz, Eva & Hilal; Tone Poetry and Music with DJ Rylan Peery; Joel Harper “All the Way to the Ocean”; World Beats and Modern Fusion with DJ Osmua; Ann-Marie Solo, Music of the World Soul; Middle Eastern Rhythms & Motion: Jamie Pappish & Melanie Kareem and Sephardic Ladino

Evening Performers include: John Densmore founding member of The Doors to perform with his band Tribaljazz; Tibetan ‘Terton’, 76 year old Kunzang Rinpoche with The Monks & Nuns of Zangdokpalri; Sufi ‘Ney’ Master, Omar Faruk Tekbilek & Ensemble; Middle Eastern World Music of the Hani Naser Band with Walfredo Reyes Jr., Armand Sabal-Lecco and Craig Eastman; Spanish Flamenco pianist Pedro Ricardo Miño The evening’s ensemble with Special Guest Artists will perform a World Premiere ‘tour de force’ composed for this night by Richard Horowitz to name a few.

The “Sounds of the Sacred Festival, Concert and Awards Gala” are programs of the Living Wellness Foundation. Founded in 1997, the Foundation presents numerous, community-based programs throughout the year that promote World Peace through its Sacred World Arts, Healing and Cross Cultural Programs.
