Chicago (Illinois), USA – The AfroPop Worldwide Dance Party featuring Amadou et Mariam (Mali) and Boubacar Traoré (Mali), two popular musical acts from West Africa, perform together in a double bill with DJ Sean Barlow and host George Collinet at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. as part of World Music Festival: Chicago 2005. This concert is presented in partnership with the festival’s radio sponsor, Chicago Public Radio WBEZ 91.5 FM.The Sept. 17 concerts at the Park West are part of the 7th Annual World Music Festival: Chicago 2005 featuring the best in international music, Sept. 16 – 22.

Organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the weeklong World
Music Festival showcases both traditional and contemporary music from many of
the world’s diverse cultures. Festival events include a mix of free and ticketed
concerts, live radio broadcasts and educational workshops presented in museums,
parks, cultural centers, plazas, theaters, bookstores, clubs and other venues
throughout Chicago.
