One (Magda, 2003)
Israeli Composer Yuval Ron put together a spectacular ensemble of Middle Eastern musicians, including Turkish, Persian and Arabic artists. Omar Faruk Tekbilek has recorded some of the finest contemporary Middle Eastern music in recent times and he adds his magic touch to this album.Yuval Ron’s compositions draw their inspiration from Armenian traditional chants, Bedouin poems, Sufi chants, and Jewish, Islamic and Christian prayers.
The atmospheric album blends superb performances on ney, kanun, violin and vocals with a string orchestra and well crafted synthesizer layers. Hauntingly beautiful.
