La Coruña, Spain – A festival dedicated to “mestizaje” will take place at La Coruña’s Coliseum (Spain), on Friday, November 13th, at 8:30 p.m. The program includes British band Fun>Da>Mental, and Spanish acts Macaco, Ojos De Brujo, Le Punk, and DJ Grobas.
Mestizaje is the Spanish word used to describe the new wave of cross-cultural or hybrids world music acts. Many of these artists are based in the metropolitan areas of Madrid and Barcelona, combining Flamenco, world music, hip hop beats, electronica and other styles.
