WOM@TT to Present Best of British Award 2010 on December 23

WOM@TT (World of Music) in association with Carnival Village & Colourful, will present its final Best of British Award event of 2010 on December 23rd at the iconic Tabernacle, Powis Square, London W11 2AY.

The line up includes the internationally acclaimed Keith Wayne, who combines African, Indian and Latin American influences in his rainforest jazz. He has over 93 flutes in his collection and a top notch band.

Another performer scheduled is the immensely popular and talented Mosi Conde from Guinea Conakry’s leading Griot family, sharing kora music from his debut album Kaira Kora Afrika (iTunes) and Alexander D Great, the 2010 Calypso Monarch has the crispest lyrics in town. MC NI will provide her infectious soca/mbqanga infused V’uvuzela rap.

Gig goers are urged to arrive early because licensing rules at The Tabernacle decree that all events in the week have to finish by 10pm. There is a secret free after party for all those attending.

WOM@TT develops and profiles UK based artists and this year (2010) presented the WOM@TT Best of British awards in recognition of pioneering and innovative excellence to a wide range of outstanding UK artists.

2010 winners of the award are Abdul Tee Jay & Rokotto, Omar, The Ruff Cutt Band, Mimitah, Mezcla de Londres, Nsimba Foggis & Taxi Pata and the performers on 23 December. An award was also made in honor of sadly departed Doreen Thobekile
