The documentary There Must Be A Place provides a look into one of Scotland’s most popular folk-rock music bands. In 1973, two brothers and a friend from the Scottish island of Skye formed a ceilidh dance band. From those modest beginnings, they would go on to tour the world, release a series of hit records and connected to millions of fans. That ceilidh band became Runrig.
Runrig took Gaelic culture from the dance halls of the Highlands to massive arenas throughout Europe and beyond. In 2018, after a 45 year career, Runrig disbanded. Their final show called The Last Dance included 50,000 fans singing, and celebrating in the shadow of Stirling’s historic Castle.
