Nolasco & Spoticai Launch “De Cai al cielo” Music Video

Nolasco, one of the finest singer-songwriters from southern Spain, has released a single titled “De Cai al cielo” (From Cadiz to Heaven). The song is a collaboration with Cadiz-based band Spoticai.

Seville-born Nolasco is a true indie artist who runs his own label and business affairs. He combines Flamenco, rock, pop and other musical influences.

“The song is a tribute to Cádiz as a symbol of positivity and truth on the road“, says Nolasco.  “I composed this song in pandemic times and with uncertainty still flying through our heads, but, at the same time, at a time when a certain light was beginning to be glimpsed in the tunnel.

Given the special relationship I have with this city, which has been giving me so much in recent years, I decided to sing a song to its blue colors and to the eyes of its people.”

The guest act on De Cai al cielo” is Spoticai, a band that shares Nolasco’s vision of combining flamenco, pop and global rhythms. “The mix with Spoticai is one of the highlights of this vision in the form of a song, since they are a distinctly Cadiz band (four musicians from various parts of the province: Cádiz, Jerez and Algeciras) that contains the spirit of Cadiz: art, talent, sympathy and street essence “.

The song pays tribute to the most recognizable and recognized essences of Cádiz. “The song begins with a carnival quartet-style dialogue in which the feeling of these years is summarized and then it opens with pop and rumba overtones towards the more southern positivity.”

The music video features a traditional winery in Jerez and various enclaves of the city of Cádiz: Torre Tavira, La Alhaja in the legendary Playa de la Caleta (La Caleta beach), and the restaurant La Curiosidad de Mauro, home of the Michelin-starred chef Mauro Barreiro. “He is also my friend, ha ha!” laughs Nolasco.
