Modeste Hugues is an award-winning singer songwriter and skilled guitarist from eastern Madagascar. His music is a fine mix of traditional Madagascan sounds. He creates memorable melodies and rhythms with captivating guitar playing and vocals.
Hugues is acclaimed for his incredible live performances. He has been featured on numerous live BBC sessions, and performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, London Jazz Festival, WOMAD, Brighton Festival and more.
In 2020, released a collaborative album titled Green World – Ala Maintsowith fellow Madagascan musician Kilema.
