World Circuit Records will reissue Orchestra Baobab’s Specialist In All Styles on vinyl for the first time. The release date is September 25, 2020. Orchestra Baobab is one of West Africa’s most famous dance bands and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Specialist In All Styles was the first album by the full ensemble since 1982’s acclaimed Pirate’s Choice. Recorded at London’s Livingston Studios in just ten days and produced by World Circuit’s Nick Gold with Youssou N’Dour, Specialist In All Styles is a fine example of Baobab’s Afro-Latin mastery, presenting new songs and reinventing some of the old tunes that made them famous.
