Six Latin music acts are scheduled to perform at the Fall Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance. The festival takes place on Thursday, October 6 to Sunday, October 9.

This fall we’re excited to have so many Latin bands,” says Sara Waters, Festival Co-Coordinator. “Many of them are our great friends we’ve met through the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival in Miami. We have also invited Texas conjunto band, Los Texmaniacs, to bring some music from the Texas/Mexico border that we don’t get much in North Carolina and a female mariachi band called Mariachi Flor de Toloache, which I’m particularly excited about!

The Latin bands include Los Texmaniacs, Mariachi Flor de Toloache, Electric Piquete, Cortadito, and Elastic Bond. The festival will also feature a variety of roots music from over 40 bands and performers, a variety of food vendors, dance and music workshops, and a healing area designed to give festivalgoers the treatment their bodies deserve.

Festival tickets are on sale now and available by phone (919- 542-8142) and at www.shakorihillsgrassroots.org/tickets-info.

Shakori Hills is located at: 1439 Henderson Tanyard Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
