Rising World Music Act Zoobazar to Perform at WOMEX 2014

Spanish global fusion band Zoobazar is set to perform at World Music Expo WOMEX 2014 on Friday, October 24th at 00:00h (midnight) as part of the Atlantic Connections Stage.

Zoobazar is one of the most exciting acts in the European world music scene. The group combines various musical influences, including flamenco, North African, Middle Eastern, Balkan and more. The band defines its style as Mediterranean World Music Fusion.

The band members have been part of the most admired Spanish world music artists such as Radio Tarifa, La Musgaña, Eliseo Parra, Javier Paxariño, Mastretta, etc.

Zoobazar are Amir-John Haddad (Arabic oud, Turkish saz, and Greek bouzouki), Diego Galaz (violin, strohviol, saw, and mandolin), Héctor Tellini (bass) and Pablo Martin Jones (percussion, drums).

Since their first debut with Uno the band has toured nonstop throughout Spain and abroad, performing at various festivals in Costa Rica, Serbia, Malta, Italy, Portugal, Azores Islands, Russia, etc. scoring each time a larger number of followers and fans.

Zoobazar released their second album titled Dos on April 22, 2014. International guests include Carmen Paris (Spain), Jorge Pardo (Spain), Kroke (Poland), Hamsika Iyer (India), Rimon Haddad (Palestine), Shankar Mahadevan (India) and Kaushal S. Inamdar (India).

Both Zoobazar albums were produced by Carlos Raya and mastered by Richard Dodd (Nashville), distributed by Galileo.

The WOMEX concert takes place at Teatro Principal, Rúa Nova 21 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The band’s representative, Zoomusic Management will be at Sounds From Spain Stand -1.76-1.83.
