Flamenco vocalists Rancapino and Rancapino Hijo (Rancapino Jr.) will present two generations of flamenco at the Teatro Central in Seville on Tuesday, March 11th at 21:00 (9 pm). Rancapino’s vibrant voice makes him one of the greatest exponents of cante jondo (deep flamenco song). On the other hand, his son Alonso Núñez, Rancapino Hijo, has inherited his father’s name and the gift of pure flamenco although he also adds a touch of young flamenco.

The two singers will be accompanied by two generations of guitar players, Fernando Moreno and Isaac Moreno.

Alonso Núñez Núñez, better known as Rancapino, son of Orillito Manuel and brother of Juan Ramón Orillo, is the heir to an undeniable and genuine essence of Cadiz style flamenco tradition. He is a skilled performer of the siguiriya, solea, tangos and malagueña.

Rancapino arrived in Madrid at 17. It was the golden age of flamenco clubs and soon found work at Torres Bermejas flamenco nightclub. It was the beginning of a period in which he worked alongside artists like Fernanda and Bernarda de Utrera, Camarón, etc.

His son, Alonso Fernández Núñez, appeared in the TV show Veo, veo at 6 years old. He debuted at the Gran Teatro Falla accompanied by Paco Cepero. He later played with other great guitarists such as Juan Habichuelas and Moraíto.

After participating in numerous television shows, at 22 Rancapino Hijo won first prize at the Peña Flamenca de Chiclana de la Frontera competition. He has performed at numerous festivals, flamenco clubs and theaters.
