Flamenco guitarist Severiano Jiménez Flores, also known by his stage name Niño Seve, is the winner in the guitar category of the 2013 Cordoba National Flamenco Art Festival. Niño Seve was born in Córdoba (Spain) on July 8th, 1982. He was just about five when he started to take an interest in the flamenco guitar.

Niño Seve began performing when he was 12 with his uncles Manolo and Eduardo Flores. They introduced him to Chilean musician Carlos Pacheco who taught him harmony and composition.

His first public appearance was in 1996 at Almodóvar del Río (Cordoba province) and he became guitar accompanist for dancers such as Eva Rojano, Ana Rodríguez and El Queco.

In 1997, at just 15, he won the Provincial Council of Córdoba’s 1st Young Flamenco Artists competition. He also recorded his first album and toured various Spanish cities, including Getafe (Madrid), Zaragoza and Barcelona.

Niño Seve had a major achievement in 1999, when he won the first prize for guitar at the 39th Song Festival at Las Minas de la Unión, where he obtained the highly prized Bordón Minero award.

In 2004 Niño Seve won first prize at the 7th National Contest in Jaén at the city’s primary flamenco club (pea). That same year he won first prize in the competition at Calasparra (Murcia) and first prize in the Manuel Cano International Competition in Granada where he was awarded the “Lanota de Oro” statue.

In 2005 he won first prize at the 5th Campos Concert Guitar in Córdoba. The following year he was awarded first prize at the Niño Ricardo International Competition in Murcia, and that same year took part at the Córdoba Guitar Festival.
