East-West Epiphany

On Sunday, April 1, 2:30 p.m. at the Freeport Public Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd., Freeport, NY, (516) 379-3274, the classical music band, East-West Epiphany, in its first of the season’s series, will feature the well-known Indian Classical Music soprano and former New School for Social Research Music Faculty member Dr. Rohini B. Ramanathan and the acclaimed pianist Ms. Carol Goodwin in a unique, lively, interactive and discussion-based, 90-minute vocal and vocalized piano concert, consisting of Indian Classical Music raga, solfege and libretto improvisations, compositions and selections from ancient Sanskrit texts.Admission to this event is free. This project is made possible, in part, with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts’ Decentralization Program, administered by the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport.
