William Kennedy Piping Festival 2011 Program Announced

The 2011 edition of the william Kennedy Piping Festival will which take place in Armagh from the 17th – 20th November.

Lúnasa, Guidewires, The Anxo Lorenzo Band and Dàimh; master uilleann pipers Seán Óg Potts, Ronan Browne and Mick O’Brien; singers Karan Casey and Róisín Elsafty; and musicians from Brittany, Scotland, Galicia, Central France and the USA – just a taste of what’s in store at the 18th William Kennedy Piping Festival which takes place in Armagh from the 17th – 20th November.

Other highlights include a visit from the 30 strong Galician band Lume de Biqueira, and a piping extravaganza entitled ‘Song of the Chanter’ featuring 45 uilleann pipers celebrating 45 years of the Armagh Pipers Club.

This year’s line-up also includes Roddy MacLeod (Scotland), Rona Lightfoot (Scotland), Tiarnán Ó Duinnchinn & Laoise Kelly, The Angus Nicolson Trio (Scotland), Siobhán Armstrong, Cillian & Niall Vallely, Anach, Tyler Duncan (USA), Kevin Rowsome, Denis Brooks, Leo Rickard, Daniel Phillippe & Jil Léhart (Brittany), Louis de Paor, O Paxaro Tolo (Spain), Footura (USA/Ireland), Duo Lagrange Rutkowski (France), Conor Mallon, Eamonn Dillon, Donal O’Connor, Peter Browne, Canntaireachd, Gráinne Holland and Band, Macha and many more.
