Sara Baras will return to La Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla after a 14-year absence with the world premiere of Infinita, a new production dedicated to Andalusia.
The internationally acclaimed flamenco dancer and choreographer will appear at the Maestranza Theatre on Sept. 11, 2026, with two additional performances scheduled. Her return will open the Bienal’s program at the venue as well as Seville’s new performing arts season.
Born in Cádiz, Baras has established an international career as both a performer and choreographer. Infinita will premiere exclusively at the Bienal.
Seville Mayor José Luis Sanz said Baras’ return “raises the bar once again” and reinforces the city’s position as an international center for the performing arts. He also highlighted her commitment to flamenco tradition and artistic innovation.
Bienal Director Luis Ybarra described the premiere as the result of a shared ambition between the festival and the artist. He said Baras’ decision to create a world premiere specifically for the Bienal reflects “an act of mutual trust” between both parties.
