Famed Irish band Téada is currently touring the United States. Téada is one of the finest contemporary Irish folk music bands. Master fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada leads the band, with longtime member Paul Finn on accordion and Ms Harvey on piano. Joining on this tour are Caoimhín Ó Fearghaíl (Danú, Caladh Nua) on flute and uilleann pipes, and Patrick Doocey (Lúnasa, Mary Chapin Carpenter) on guitar. Guest vocalist Caitríona Sherlock joins March 8 – 17.
Oisín Mac Diarmada founded Téada in 2001, at age 19 keen on exploring the music of past masters. An All-Ireland fiddle champion, he comes from a musical family in County Sligo; his brother Cormac plays fiddle in the group Lankum.
Téada’s most recent album is Coiscéim Coiligh (As The Days Brighten) from 2022. The tour is supported by Culture Ireland.
