Founded in Valladolid in 1972 by José Luis Gómez, Celso Garrido, and brothers José María and Miguel Ángel Rivera, Tahona is as a pillar of Castilian-Leonese traditional music. For five decades, the group has navigated the evolving cultural landscape, steadfast in its mission to preserve and share the rich heritage of Spanish folk music on both local and international stages.

Their repertoire and performances reflect the spirit and history of Castilla y León, a region in central and northwestern Spain, celebrated for its vibrant contributions to folk culture.
