Flamenco Capital Showcases Young Talent at “Sonido Madrid en Vivo 24”

Flamenco Capital highlights emerging artists in the “Sonido Madrid en Vivo 24” lineup, with performances by Manuel Cortés, the cast of Essential Flamenco, and José Escarpín. These flamenco events will take place at venues across Madrid during late September and early October, including Sala Villanos, Tablao Torero, and Tablao 1911. These shows are part of a series organized by Madrid en Vivo in collaboration with Mahou.

Saturday, September 28: Manuel Cortés at Sala Villanos

Manuel Cortés will present his “Ali Tour” at Sala Villanos, featuring his most popular tracks, such as “Ali” (8 million views), “Te Quiero” (4 million views), and songs like “Te Duele” and “Besos de Mañana.” His 2017 debut album, Algo de Mí, includes collaborations with renowned artists like Miguel Poveda, Josemi Carmona, and María Toledo, cementing his status as a key figure in flamenco-pop. Cortés returns to Madrid with new sounds and a fusion of styles.

Wednesday, October 2: Essential Flamenco at Tablao Torero

Essential Flamenco aims to revive the intimacy of traditional flamenco, where performances were held in small rooms among close friends without amplification. This show, directed by the award-winning Juan “El Mistela,” recreates the authentic atmosphere, with the audience sitting in close proximity to the performers, surrounded by three rows of chairs, and no distractions like food or drink. The production promises an authentic flamenco experience.

Wednesday, October 9: José Escarpín at Tablao 1911

Murcian dancer José Escarpín, who showed a passion for flamenco from a young age, trained at prestigious schools such as Amor de Dios in Madrid. His teachers include Juan Ramírez, Alfonso Losa, and Antonio Canales. Escarpín has performed internationally, including in the U.S. and Italy, and appeared on national and international TV shows, receiving multiple awards for his work.
