Mirza Redžepagić initiated his musical journey at age 8 with classical guitar. By 15, he had participated in numerous national and international competitions. Notably, he studied classical guitar performance at the Music Academy in Sarajevo under Prof. Alexander Swete, graduating with the highest honors at 23.
Later, Mirza pursued flamenco, studying in Granada, Spain, with masters like Juan Habichuela, Jorge el Pisao, and Ruben Campos. He also became proficient in the Middle Eastern oud, becoming one of the few players in Bosnia & Herzegovina and the region. Afterward, in 2015, he received a scholarship from the Asociación Española de Guitarra Flamenca (AEGF) in Madrid to specialize in flamenco guitar under Jose Deluna.
His repertoire includes flamenco, classical, Balkan folk, maqam, jazz, and world music. Significantly, he performs regularly at festivals and venues across Europe. Since 2017, he has been a professor of flamenco guitar and a representative of the AEGF for Balkan countries.
In 2018, he became music director for the World Music Fest Zeman in Serbia, curating a lineup of renowned artists. In 2019, he co-established the World Music Jam Sessions in Sarajevo with Damir Imamovic, creating a platform for diverse musicians.
Moving forward, in 2020, Mirza delivered an online master session of Microtonal Guitar at Womex, exploring Maqam music on the flamenco microtonal guitar. That same year, he founded Nairuz, an international band combining Sufi and flamenco music.
Mirza released Flamenco Clásicos (2022) and Mirza Redžepagić plays Brouwer (2022). His 2024 project, Cycles, recorded at Berklee Valencia from September 2022 to June 2023, features collaborations with over 18 musicians from different countries, creating a distinctive sound influenced by global encounters.
