We by Spanish folk band Vigüela is the number album on the LIMúR (Iberian Roots Music) chart for the second quarter of 2024.
Vigüela, a band from Toledo, explores an ancient and nearly forgotten legacy of traditional music. This album continues their decade-long journey of rediscovering and internalizing traditional music forms, emphasizing the prosody of speech and its naturally generated melodies.
We not only signifies joy and character but also reflects the band’s commitment to reviving the ancient musical language left incomplete by their ancestors. According to Juan Antonio Torres, this project focuses on the essence of traditional melodies and their interpretative roles, offering a fresh approach to the genre, particularly the “son.”
