“Passion Flower” is the first single from San Diego harpist Tasha Smith Godinez’s upcoming album, A New Day. This piece features Godinez on a 47-string concert grand electro-acoustic harp, accompanied by Domenico Hueso on viola and Christopher Garcia on percussion. The track blends elements of world music, jazz, and avant-garde, capturing a mix of delicacy and strength akin to the passion flower itself.
Passion flowers, known for their captivating fragrance and beauty, produce tangy and delicious fruits. They are resilient plants that require ample space to thrive. Tasha first encountered these flowers in Perpignan, France, and was so enchanted by their foliage and blossoms that they now hold a prominent place in her garden. This inspiration is echoed in the opening track of her new album.
