A Path to Travel is a world fusion album by the Australian band Gosti. As inhabitants of Earth, Gosti acknowledge their role as guests on this remarkable planet. They emphasize the importance of cultivating a profound respect for the environment’s hospitality. Within the Australian continent, they recognize themselves as guests, honoring the stewardship of the indigenous peoples who have safeguarded this land for millennia.
In their musical journey, Gosti embrace the diverse cultures that have inspired them. They express deep gratitude to the musicians who have generously shared their knowledge and inspired their wide-ranging compositions. Each track on this album is an original piece, reflecting Gosti’s appreciation for the cultures that have enriched them and the land that sustains them.
With a mix of diverse styles such as contemporary jazz, world music and chamber music, and emotional depths, their colorful compositions evolve, guided by improvisation and their collective musical synergy developed over decades.
The album, features the talents of Tunji Beier on various global percussion instruments; Philip Griffin on various strings and creative bass solos; and Linsey Pollak on woodwinds.
All tracks were composed by Linsey Pollak and arranged by Gosti.
