Trio Ravnogor Unleashes Bulgarian Mountain Blues

Trio Ravnogor – Mountain Blue (Aide Aide! Music & Dance, 2022)

Trio Ravnogor’s Mountain Blue is a captivating fusion of acoustic Bulgarian mountain blues, a testament to the rich traditions celebrated at the Ravnogor Music Fever festival.

Founded amidst the enchanting landscapes of Ravnogor, a picturesque village nestled 1300 meters (ca. 4,265 ft) high in the Rodopi mountains of Southern Bulgaria, Trio Ravnogor emerged from the vibrant folk music & dance festival bearing its name. The festival, an annual event held in late July, served as the breeding ground for this exceptional trio.

Mountain Blue encapsulates the diverse experiences encountered during the years of organizing the Ravnogor Music Fever festival. It not only serves as a chronicle of that time but also shares the vibrant musical traditions thriving in the Bulgarian countryside. Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Trio Ravnogor embarked on an artistic exploration, crafting charming and pleasing arrangements of traditional Bulgarian and Hungarian folk songs that breathe life into the music they had mastered.
