Ögbelerim: Music for My Ancestors by Mongolian throat singer and multi-instrumentalist Batsükh Dorj has secured the top spot on the Transglobal World Music Chart for the month of January 2024.
Batsükh Dorj is a master of the various overtone styles typical of the Tuvans: khöömii (hurried overtone singing); sygyt (whistled overtone singing); kargyraa (deep overtone singing); ezenggileer (lit. “stirrups”); and borbangnadyr (lit. “ rolling”).
