Raquel Tobias is a samba singer and composer. Born in São Paulo, from the South Zone, Raquel has gained great importance in the music scene. She makes up the musical wing of the Estrela do Terceiro Milênio and Morro da Casa Verde Samba Schools, in São Paulo. In addition to developing many projects in peripheral communities in São Paulo, Raquel Tobias is present in the city’s main samba circles as a solo singer.
Raquel Tobias presents an emotional repertoire, featuring songs that she heard in her childhood and that were part of her development as a singer. She recalls the cherished dance events she went to with her mother; the family parties; the little steps and drumming with a bucket in the backyard; to fondly remember and dance.
Raquel Tobias was selected to perform at the Malungo Festival 2023, an in-person and video showcase that honors the depth of Brazilian Black Culture.
