Story of the Sky is a captivating, charming and multi-faceted musical journey created by the talented husband and wife duo Morley and Chris Bruce. Furthermore, it combines jazz, soul, world music and American folk traditions into a harmonious masterpiece. As a result, this debut family/children’s album is a celebration of interdependence and our connection to the natural world. With a diverse ensemble of guests, the album weaves together a rich tapestry of voices, languages, and ages, ranging from two to ninety-two.

The Bruces invited friends from around the world to contribute original songs, poems, and phrases. Artists include David Amram, Toshi Reagon, Maria Popova, Martha Redbone, Tenzin Choegyal, Lokua Kanza, Jon Cowherd, Tendor Dorjee, Roopa Mahadevan with Trina Basu & Arun Ramamurthy, Roopa Mahadevan, Kenita Miller & Justin Hicks, Annie Sumi & Travis Knapp. The album features many languages including English, Tibetan, Tamil, Spanish, and Lingala, as well as a song with 22 languages.

Each track on Story of the Sky serves as a musical compass, guiding listeners toward a deeper understanding of our place in the universe and the beauty of interconnection. Beginning with the a cappella introduction by Morley on the title track, the album gradually unfolds with heartfelt duets, such as the one with 92-year-old Maestro David Amram.
