In a remarkable feat, the renowned GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist, lyricist, and instrumentalist, Billy Strings, clinched the coveted title of Entertainer of the Year at the 34th Annual IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards, marking his third consecutive triumph in this prestigious category.
This well-deserved recognition amplifies the brilliance of another exceptional year for Strings. Furthermore, he continues to embark on an extensive headline tour throughout autumn.
As he travels the United States, his upcoming tour destinations encompass a diverse range of venues, including Portland’s Moda Center for two nights, Seattle’s WAMU Theater, Stanford’s Frost Amphitheater for two nights, Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena for two nights, Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center for two nights, Syracuse’s Oncenter War Memorial, and New Orleans’ UNO Lakefront Arena for three nights, among numerous others. The complete itinerary is provided below.
Born in Michigan and currently based in Nashville, Strings recently unveiled his collaboration with the legendary artist Willie Nelson, titled “California Sober.” This marks his first release since joining forces with the Reprise Records label.
This collaborative endeavor follows Strings’ most recent full-length album, Me/And/Dad, which was launched last autumn. The album features Strings alongside his father, Terry Barber, and brings to life their longtime dream. It includes fresh interpretations of fourteen cherished bluegrass and country classics that the duo has been performing together since Strings was a young child.
Since his debut in 2017, Strings has accumulated numerous accolades, including the title of Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards; Artist of the Year at the 2022 Americana Music Awards; Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2022 International Bluegrass Music Awards.
