Abdolghaffar Geldinejad, an accomplished maestro of the gyjak (spike fiddle), was born in 1957 in Gonbad-e Kavous, a city situated in the Turkmen Sahra region of northeastern Iran. Immersed in the realm of Turkmen music, Geldinejad acquired his profound knowledge under the tutelage of masters Arazmohammad Kalte and Nazarli Mahjubi within the Iranian territory.
