Hailing from Barcelona, Anna Colom is a multitalented Spanish vocalist and songwriter. Born in 1985, Colom pursued her passion for flamenco singing at the ESMUC, where she honed her skills before expanding her knowledge at the prestigious Cristina Heeren Foundation in Seville.
Her repertoire boasts of an extensive history of performances in theaters and tablaos across various Spanish cities, including the Palau de la Música Catalana, Tarantos Barcelona, the iconic Casa Patas (Madrid), Café de Chinitas, and the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla. Anna’s artistic prowess has also taken her to more than a dozen countries worldwide, such as New Zealand, the United States, China, Mexico, and Switzerland, amongst others.
While her solo project surfaced with the release of two singles in 2019, Colom received an invitation from Rosalía, an old classmate, to embark on a world tour as a backing vocalist during the El Mal Querer tour. The shows were a tremendous success and kept her preoccupied until 2023, during which she had to shelve her personal interests.
In addition to her stage presence, Anna has lent her vocals to the Barcelona y Flamenco dance company, under the direction of maestro Juan Gómez Chicuelo. She has also collaborated in the production of “Lotería” by Karen Lugo and participated in diverse artistic projects, such as “Numen” by Melodie Gimard, “Federico García” by Pep Tossar, Laboratoria Flamenco, and “Joncol 4,” amongst many others.
Anna has also had the privilege of recording with acclaimed artists such as Juan Gomez Chicuelo, Silvia Pérez Cruz, La Tana, Rafael Lechowski, Alfonso Villalonga, and the Oviedo Philharmonic, to name a few.
In the year 2023, Anna Colom launched her debut album, “Cayana,” to critical acclaim. The album pays homage to the roots of Flamenco by showcasing the traditional Flamenco repertoire, which has been heavily influenced by Iberian folk music traditions, Latin American music, and African rhythms. “Cayana” is a sensational embodiment of Colom’s musical journey, and her splendid performance is a testament to her passion and hard work.
