At the Terrace Theater in the Lincoln Center of Washington, DC, experience the Emmy Award-winning musician Vân-Ánh Võ, along with composer Jonathan Berger and the Apollo Chamber Players, as they take you on a powerful, multisensory journey through life on the Mekong River in Southeast Asia. Mekong: SOUL, which is part of the RiverRun Festival, will showcase three compelling stories on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 7:30 pm.
Through music, the audience will embark on a sonic voyage along the river and listen to the sounds of Vietnamese, Khmer, Thai, Lao, and Burmese communities. The struggles faced by those torn from the river and the pains of departure from their homeland will be seen through dance.
