‘Lady Sings the Balkan Blues‘ by Bosnian act Mostar Sevdah Reunion is the number one album at the Transglobal World Music Chart in March 2023.
Mostar Sevdah Reunion persists in their mission to preserve and promote the musical style of sevdah, a unique and essential component of the region’s culture. In doing so, they also shine a light on the impressive talent of local artists, providing them with a platform to be heard around the world.
Despite facing obstacles, the ensemble unearths musical gems and amplifies underrepresented voices, magnifying the beauty of their homeland and garnering global acclaim.
The group’s roster features a diverse array of musicians, including Antonija Batinić on vocals; Mišo Petrović on lead, solo, and rhythm guitar; Senad Trnovac on drums; Marko Jakovljević on double bass and electric bass; Ivan Radoja on violin; Gabrijel Prusina on piano and accordion; and Sandi Duraković on rhythm guitar. Special guests: Boris Vuga on accordion; Orhan Maslo on percussion; and Ivan Sušac on trumpet.
