Ensemble Sangineto

Artist Profiles: Ensemble Sangineto, Crafters of Ancient Harmonies and Modern Sounds

Ensemble Sangineto is a diverse musical group that artfully combines ancient harmonies with modern rhythms.

The members’ extensive musical backgrounds converge to create fresh arrangements of traditional Irish, Scottish, Breton, and Italian melodies, along with original compositions. That new material incorporates influences from a broad range of musical genres, from western classical and early music to traditional folk, from Gregorian chant to musicals, and from pop to Celtic music.

The group’s delicate blend of the ethereal sounds of the harp and bowed psaltery with the guitar creates a dreamlike atmosphere, enhanced by the delightful three-voice polyphonic texture, simultaneously joyous and light.

Ensemble Sangineto, in 2023, unveiled “Grand Tour Vol. 1,” the inaugural chapter of a two-part opus that celebrates the rich heritage of Italian music. Each of the country’s 20 regions is represented by a fresh, invigorating interpretation of a beloved folk tune, a testament to the group’s reverence for traditional Italian songs.
