Nickel Creek to Release New Album “Celebrants” on March 2023

Grammy Award-winning trio, Nickel Creek, consisting of mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins, and guitarist Sean Watkins, will be releasing their first album in nine years, “Celebrants”, on March 24 via the Thirty Tigers label. The album was recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A and produced by Eric Valentine with Mike Elizondo on bass. The album will showcase the trio’s perspective on human connection, exploring themes of love, friendship, and time.

Nickel Creek has been credited with revolutionizing bluegrass and folk music and cementing their place in American roots music. They rose to fame in the early 2000s with their self-titled album produced by Alison Krauss and have since released several studio albums.

Each member of the trio has also had successful individual careers, with Chris Thile being a MacArthur Fellowship recipient and former host of “Live from Here”; Sean Watkins co-founding Watkins Family Hour; and Sara Watkins collaborating with I’m With Her and contributing to recordings by various artists.

In celebration of the release of “Celebrants”, the band will be performing three sold-out shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in April 2023. Further tour dates will be announced soon. The return of Nickel Creek with their new album marks a highly anticipated moment for their fans and the bluegrass and Americana music scene.
